Personal instruction with Mayda
The beginning is a chance to establish habits that support everything that follows. Mayda introduces the keyboard, notation, rhythm, and technique together, using each lesson to connect a new concept with something the student can hear and play.
Instead of relying only on memorizing finger movements, beginners work toward recognizing patterns and understanding the music in front of them. Careful listening and comfortable movement are part of that process from the start.
Beginners can be children, teens, or adults. The foundations are shared, but the explanation, pace, and weekly goals should suit the person learning. Private instruction gives Mayda room to adjust each lesson and address questions as they arise.
Meet your teacherBetween lessons
Plan for access to an appropriate instrument between lessons, and bring any questions about your home setup to the consultation. You do not need to select a stack of method books in advance; ask Mayda about suitable materials and the first steps for your age and goals.
The trial introduces the experience of learning one-to-one. Mayda can discuss your starting point, explain what regular lessons involve, and recommend a suitable lesson length and next steps.
Regular lessons are available in 30- or 60-minute sessions. Mayda will contact you personally to arrange the introductory appointment after you send your request.
Before you begin
No. Reading is part of what beginners learn. You can start without prior music lessons and build notation, rhythm, listening, and keyboard skills together.
No. Mayda teaches children, teens, and adults. A beginner's age and goals help shape the pace and approach, rather than determining whether they can start.
Progress varies with experience, practice, and the music being studied. The focus is on achievable steps and a reliable foundation; Mayda can discuss appropriate expectations after meeting you.
